String quartet
2025/26 – currently being revised
My string quartet is probably my most concentrated and minimal composition. It consists of just one gesture, repeated in different variations and speeds. I wanted to write a kind of music that appears to be static but actually goes through various subtle processes that one only notices after they’ve already happened.
This piece is dedicated to Aurélien Dumont who was my composition teacher during my Erasmus semester at CNSMD Lyon.
First version premiered by Complete Quartet at the final concert of the academy of Quatuor Diotima in Arsenal Metz, 11.03.26
